DAVE PRICE TRIO - OUR HOUSE BAND

Dave Price (piano) lives in Grosmont and is a frequent presence on the jazz scene in Herefordshire and the Borders. As well as playing local gigs Dave has backed many famous soloists including Art Farmer, Nat Adderley, Kenny Wheeler, Tubby Hayes, Ronnie Scott and George Melly. We love him, his enthusiasm and support.

Erika Lyons (bass) though now living in the Kington was once a London based professional (under her maiden name of Erika Howard) and also studied and worked in New York for two years back in the 1970s. She really works her double bass, has amazing musicality and perfect pitch which keeps us all on our toes.

John Gibbon (drums) a resident of Hay-on Wye, has been involved in the Jazz scene since his youth and for many years ran a Jazz Club which showcased the great acts of the day. John has toured the world being much in demand for his jazz drumming skills. He has brought depth to Black Lion Jazz as well as variety to our programme introducing some of his old friends like the Phil Mead Trio, Jim Mullen and Art Themen.
