Best Pub & Bar in Powys

The Old Black Lion, Hay-On-Wye is awarded the Best Pub & Bar in Powys

We are over the moon to announced we are National Pub & Bar Award County Winners for Powys! We are 1 of 8 winners in the Wales region and will find out who is the regional winner and the UK Winner on 28 June. It recognises the hard work our entire team puts in to provide great service to every customer. We focus on top quality local food and drink in a relaxed setting with friendly service to match.

Being a restaurant and B&B in the book town of Hay-On-Wye, situated on the boarder of Wales and England, it is a fantastic town, and we want people to have a great place to eat and drink to top off their visit.

Having continued success with the Good Food Award and achieving 2AA Rosettes, this further achievement means all our hard work is paying off. The team put so much effort into ensuring all our guests have a lovely time with us, the whole team is being recognised for what they do. Whilst we are proud of our awards, it’s the continual positive feedback from our customers that we love.

The national pub and bar awards aim to showcase the UK’s finest pubs and bars on a national scale. The awards recognise the trade for overall retail excellence, best practice and individual entrepreneurship across the UK’s 94 counties. We want to stand out by not only providing outstanding service to all our guests but also supporting local businesses and the community as best we can. To be one of eight finalists in the Wales region for this award is such a prestigious achievement, we are over the moon!
